Hiya, I’m Maia. [If you read that one correctly, it should rhyme. :-P] I’m a 20-something blogger who lives in Chicago, but hails from the east coast. By day, I manage digital programs and campaigns on behalf of clients. By night (and on the weekends), I’m taking fitness classes, testing out new recipes in my wok and crockpot, om nom nom-ing and checking out venues and events. (Chicago by summer is the perfect place for fest-finding adventures.) I also enjoy scrapbooking, crafting, baking and writing, which is primarily why I started this blog.
My family raised me to appreciate culture and the arts. Growing up in the Washington, D.C. area, my family frequented exhibits and shows at the Smithsonian, browsed through many books from local shops and libraries and attended performances at the Kennedy Center, local theater productions, etc. When I was eight, Gene Kelly was my favorite performer and Billy Joel and Michael Jackson filled our living rooms with songs. That summer, my mom enrolled me in a quilting workshop, and the summer thereafter, I was trying my hand at cross stitch kits. Nowadays, I’m not much of a sewer, but I do still love me a good stitch. :)
I hope you’ll enjoy a bit of sweetness here on my blog. Please feel free to contact me.
